Another new case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the Federal Capital Territory. This makes the total number of confirmed cases in the FCT to four.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), through its Twitter handle made the confirmation.
This brings the total numbers of confirmed cases in the FCT to four, while the total cases in the country now stands at 30.
The health agency said, “One new case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in FCT, Abuja, Nigeria.
“As at 22nd of March, there are 30 confirmed cases of COVID19 in Nigeria.
“Of the 30 confirmed cases, 2 have been discharged with no death”.
So far, nobody has died from the virus in Nigeria as compared to other places across where the virus has killed over 13,000 people.
In Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, a new case was also reported.
A statement issued by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday, said the new case was reported in a man who returned from the UK recently.
He said the patient was at Bodija area of Ibadan. The patient in his 50s has been in isolation for the past four days.
His sample was taken to Lagos where the result came out positive.
Makinde said that another person who just returned from the US to Oluyole Local Government Area has also been isolated and the result of his test being awaited.
The statistics of the spread stand at Lagos 22, FCT 4, Ogun 2, Oyo 1 and Ekiti 1.
