The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the emergency evacuation of stranded Nigerians in Israel and Iran, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, Minister Yusuf Tuggar said arrangements were being finalised to ensure the safe and timely evacuation of Nigerian citizens affected by the ongoing conflict, now entering its seventh day.
Tuggar urged all Nigerians in the affected countries to maintain security vigilance and promptly contact the nearest Nigerian missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran for registration and further guidance.
He commended Nigeria’s diplomatic staff for their dedication during the crisis and reiterated that the government remains committed to the safety and welfare of its citizens worldwide.
The minister also renewed Nigeria’s call for the immediate cessation of hostilities, urging all involved parties to adhere to international humanitarian law, protect civilians, and pursue peaceful dialogue.
He emphasized Nigeria’s enduring support for peaceful conflict resolution and global stability.
