International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has released its end of the year international ranking of the Men’s National Team and Nigeria makes the list at fourth position in Africa.
While in the global ranking, the Super Eagles’ position is unchanged as they remain 44th with 1427 points accumulated.
The other teams in the top five positions in Africa are Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo in that order.
Nigeria’s group opponents in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers South Africa and Libya are placed 72nd and 104th respectively while our next opponents, Seychelles are placed 189th of 211.
Belgium retained their position as the top rated team in the world. World champions, France are second followed by Brazil, Croatia and England.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 7 February 2019.
