Gombe gov congratulates predecessor, Dankwambo, over child’s wedding
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has felicitated with the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo and Alhaji Shehu Audu Mairiga over the wedding of their children Manir Ibrahim Dankwambo and Ummul- Khair Audu Mairiga which took place in Kaduna.
He congratulated the former Governor for achieving that feat, advising the newly wedded couple to exhibit high level of tolerance and patience which is the Hallmark of a successful married life.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi at the wedding fatiha, said it is the wish of every parents to see their children grow to adulthood, especially to a stage of establishing a home.
Gombe First Lady assures state commitment to welfare
However, First Lady of Gombe state, Hajiya Asma’u Muhamadu Inuwa Yahaya has said that the state government will ensure close and sustained partnership with the Federal Government and other non-govermental organizations in developing initiatives that have direct bearing on the lives of the citizenry.
The First Lady said this when she flags-off food distribution programme, initiated by the office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari.
The food distribution programme targets the less privileged members of the society, including, orphans, widows, people with disabilities as well as religious groups, associations and others.

Hajiya Asma’u Yahaya said the human spirited initiatives being pursued by Aisha Buhari through her pet project, ” future assured’ are in tune with Gombe state administration’s programmes targeting at the empowerment of youths, women and other vulnerable groups.
She said meeting the immediate needs of a common man should be a matter of priority to every responsible person.
The Gombe state First Lady appealed to the representatives of the benefitting individuals and groups to be fair and just in distributing the items.
She disclosed that a monitoring team has been set up to ensure a fair distribution process with a view to reaching out to the targeted beneficiaries.
