Some gunmen suspected to be bandits unleashed terror on communities in Katsina and Zamfara states, killing residents, injuring others while also abducting many.

The marauders were said to have carried out the attacks on Monday and Tuesday nights, causing maximum damage in the communities unchallenged.

It was gathered that the bandits, on Tuesday night, attacked Lango community in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing two residents, injuring several others and looting valuables before going away with an unspecified number of residents.

Two persons were earlier on Monday night confirmed dead following bandits attack in Kucheri village, Tsafe Local Government Area of the same state while two persons also sustained gunshot injuries during the attack.

A source close to the local government area told Impact Nigeria News Online on Wednesday morning that the bandits arrived at the village on motorcycles and abducted some of the residents.

However, after some hours, four of the captives who attempted to escape were shot, leading to the death of two of them.

Yet in another attack on Monday night, night, bandits attacked Gidan Goga village in Masari ward, Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing two residents, abducting others and rustling a large number of animals.

The bandits stormed the village when residents were preparing to sleep and launched the attack, killing the two persons who sources said resisted the attempt to kidnap them.

Despite the various security agencies deployed to various communities in Zamfara State, the bandits carried out the attacks without anyone coming to the rescue of the community members.

The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem on residents of various communities, killing them and abducting others.
