Oluwaseyi Oladele is the fouder of Dunni Connoisseur. A start-up that helps to beautify people through Makeup artistry and also provides   solution to skin-related issues. She is also an Entrepreneur with a certification in Makeup artistry and Cosmetology. In this exclusive interview with our correspondent, Mercy Ezeokonwo, she shares her definition of purpose, her motivations, and the challenges she has faced on the Journey so far. She further shares her projections for the next five years. Excerpts;

Briefly tell us about yourself?

My name is Oluwaseyi Oladele, the founding owner of Dunni Connoisseur, and a graduate of Banking and Finance (but not practicing). I’m an Entrepreneur with a vast interest in Arts and Aesthetics. Some of these areas of interest I’ve delved into with certification include Makeup artistry and Cosmetology. Other areas of interest are Baking graphics design, and video editing.

What’s your definition of purpose?

I see Purpose as a discovery of the reason why I am here on this planet, and meeting that need satisfactorily before my time is up.

From your definition, do you think you’re fulfilling your purpose?

To the best of my awareness, I am fulfilling the reason I was created.

What motivates you to do all you do?

For the longest time, I have been interested in the smiles of others. When I see that smile coming from somewhere deeper than the lips (in their eyes) it makes my spirit come alive,..every single time. That’s the motivation that has fuelled my inclination towards all I have learned and all I’m practicing/doing. I crave to meet the need of at least one individual satisfactorily within a given period.

What are the challenges you’ve faced and how were you able to overcome them?

I’ve encountered challenges that have made me question my purpose in general, because dealing with people isn’t the easiest of things. In line with my interests (cosmetology especially, I have tried to formulate products to solve issues that threaten the security of people’s appearance, only for some of those formulations to go out and I end up throwing materials away. I’ve lost quite an amount of money chasing this cause.

Same it is to the makeup art. Getting products that do not serve a good purpose, and at the end of the day, I’d discover I’ve wasted money yet again. Sensitive skin is another. It’s challenging at first to work with sensitive skin because one can’t be too careful. But thank God I have learned a lot from all of these challenges.

Oluwaseyi Oladele

Always knowing when to go back to check where the source of the problem came from has been the way out of all of the challenges I have encountered.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

In the next five years, I see myself in my establishment as a consultant, with employees, writing out powerful recipes for good brands, and making products in large batches for other brands.

My makeup studio is well structured and equipped with some of my cleansers, micellar water for thorough makeup remover, wipes, lip balm, and serums for makeup.

Other products like my own custom-made underarm deodorant and others.

My Makeup Clients go home with take-out souvenirs from my skincare department.

In five years God willing, I’d be a pro web designer as well. I’d also be a wife and a Mum (God willing).

What skills would you advise young people to learn?

I’d advise young people to learn any skill that appeals strongly to them. They should learn more than one (compulsorily). One in tech and one outside tech.

Please leave a piece of advice

One piece of advice; prepare for life as early as you can darling, because life will come with its test. These tests will test you to the core. Your preparation starting with God is what you’ve got.
