Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday, August 11, said though he is contesting against the All Progressives Congress (APC) that has 34 governors, he has nothing to worry about because he is a bulldozer.
Adeleke said this at the Town Hall meeting organised by Arise Television for the governorship candidates of various parties in the election coming up on Saturday, August 15.
He said: “I am not worried that I am contesting against a party that has 34 governors, I am a bulldozer. If they like they should bring all their governors, they are all my friends. They are not the one to come and vote here, they can only support their party.”
On the allegation that he gives more attention to his town, Ede, regarding siting of projects, he said there was no truth in it as he has also sited projects in other towns some of which have already been inaugurated.
“Reports of Edenization in our administration is false. Yesterday, I just commissioned a flyover in Ile Ife and I am not from Ile Ife. I have commissioned dualized road in Ila Orangun, Iwo, Osogbo, Ilesa etc, all built by our administration. Should I abandon Ede because it is my town?” he said.
On why he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party through which he became the governor of the state, he said: “I left the PDP to join Accord because of the crisis in the PDP then. I love PDP so much and it was difficult to leave. I would have run as an independent candidate in this election if it is allowed in Nigeria.”
On his description as a ‘dancing governor,’ he said he always danced because in his family, they are always jolly good fellows.
“I dance because in my family, we are jolly good fellows. As I am dancing, I am working. There is time for everything, there is time to dance and there is time to work. Dancing does not stop me from working. I have delivered across all sectors.”
