Insecurity: Opai women go spiritual over political crisis, insecurity

Indigenous women of Okpai Kingdom in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State have embarked on ceaseless prayers to enthrone peace, security and development of the entire Kingdom.
National President of Opai Women Association, Mrs Theresa Anitoeze who confirmed this to our Correspondent on telephone, said that the prayers are spiritual warfare to tackle some of the challenges that have bedeviled the community overtimes, adding that owing to the imperative in the unfolding political skirmishes, the women group took the situations as their responsibility through prayers for peaceful coexistence.
Anitoeze, while expressing satisfaction over the drastic steps taken by Okpai Community Development Committee (OCDC), the Traditional Council of Chiefs and the Youths towards face-lifting all the component communities, disclosed that the prayer programme concerned all Okpai women both home and abroad.
She said, “We are not happy with the level of development in Okpai including insecurity, our politicians and Youths should not fight among themselves, they should be united in a single voice to attract development home hence we started with prayers”
In another development, the construction firm handling the Beneku / Kwale Bridge across Ase Creek DNL Engineering limited has restated its commitment and determination to deliver the project at the stipulated time.
A top management of the company who spoke to our Correspondent on telephone and on condition of anonymity said “We shall complete and deliver the project to use and to the state government at the stipulated time and work on the project is already 70 percent” explaining that the pilling and the approach road had been completed.”
He thanked the Delta state government for awarding them the project contract and pleaded the governor to encourage them more in order to deliver in line with the standard and time frame.
