JUST IN: Gunmen invade secondary school in Ogbomosho zone, abduct principal, students

Gunmen on Friday morning invaded Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting the principal of a secondary school and an unspecified number of students.

The local government area is in the Ogbomosho zone of the state.

The attack reportedly occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. at Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, according to sources in the community.

The sources said the attackers stormed the school, abducted an unspecified number of students, and also kidnapped the principal, identified as Mrs Rachael Alamu

The sources further disclosed that a teacher was shot during the incident, though details about the victim’s condition were not immediately clear.

According to the sources, the gunmen escaped with the school principal and the students in her vehicle into a nearby forest reserve bordering the community.

As of the time of this report, both the state government and the police command in the state are yet to respond to the incident.
