The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Monday, May 11, fixed the cut-off marks for university admissions for this year at 150 while that of polytechnics was fixed at 100.
What this means is that no university in the country should admit any candidate who scored below 150 while polytechnics should also not admit anyone below 100.
However, universities and polytechnics are allowed to determine their own cut-off marks based on the number of candidates they will admit for each of the programmes in the institutions and their scores in UTME.
JAMB announced the development on its X handle as it is currently holding its policy on admissionS in Abuja.
The examination body also stated that cut-off mark for Colleges of Nursing is also 150, same as university admissions.
“The Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria have unanimously agreed that the minimum admissible scores for admissions into universities should be 150, Colleges of Nursing 150, and Polytechnics, 100,” JAMB said.
