Officials of a Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State have asked a trader to pay what it described as “erection of container” levy into a personal account.

The officials of the Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area under the Alimosho Local Government of the state were said to have issued a notice to a trader, asking him to pay the said levy.

The trader (names withheld), who brought the matter to the social media platform, disclosed that two men who said they were officials of the LCDA brought the notice to him in his containerised shop

The LCDA officials, who said they were from the Department of Works at the Ajasa Command Area Office of the LCDA, told him that he must pay the sum of N3,700 being the monthly levy for the erection of the container.

However, what surprised the trader was the fact that the notice given to him showed that he should pay the money into a personal account.

The notice reads: “Below is the account details: Bank Name: OPAY; Account name: James Ozimah Ibrahim; Account number: 8060731104.”

The man said he was surprised to see personal account details in a notice given to him by officials of an LCDA, saying he has no plan to pay into personal account.

His post got reactions from his followers who warned him not to pay into personal account as those who brought the notice could be impostors.

They urged him to visit the LCDA as soon as possible in order to know the authenticity of the notice and he should ask the authorities why he was asked to pay such a levy into personal account.
