The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has pledged full support for Dr. Alfa Yusufu, the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Nasarawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB).
The assurance came during a courtesy visit by Dr. Yusufu and his team to the NCPC headquarters in Abuja on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Describing the visit as a laudable step toward collaboration, Bishop Adegbite praised Dr. Yusufu’s initiative and urged him to embrace his new role with integrity and transparency. “Leadership is a calling,” he said. “Serve faithfully and transparently, and the results will speak.”
Reflecting on his own experience, Adegbite recalled starting his NCPC tenure with minimal resources, yet successfully delivering the 2024 pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan—a feat he attributed to divine grace and support from the Tinubu administration.
The NCPC boss lauded Dr. Yusufu’s qualifications and expressed confidence in his ability to lead effectively, calling him “a round peg in a round hole.” He also promised to liaise with the Nasarawa State Government to secure greater sponsorship for Christian pilgrims and assured the board of ongoing institutional and personal support.
In response, Dr. Yusufu expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized his willingness to learn under Bishop Adegbite’s mentorship. He called for continued collaboration to strengthen the board’s mission. Dr. Yusufu was accompanied by key board officials, marking a new chapter in the state’s pilgrimage administration.
