The National Judicial Council has given seven days ultimatum to the suspended Justices Walter Onnoghen Justice Ibrahim Muhammad to respond to separate petition written against them.
This development was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the emergency meeting of the NJC in Abuja on Tuesday.
The petition against Justice Walter Onnoghen was filed by Zikhrillahi Ibrahim of Resource Center for Human Rights and Civic Education while that of Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed was filed by Center for Justice and Peace Initiative.
IMPACT also gathered that a separate petition was filed against Honorable Danladi Umar of the Code of Conduct Tribunal which was referred to the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC), the appropriate constitutional body empowered to deal with it.
According to the communiqué made available by the Soji Oye, the council would meet again on 11 of February to deliberate further on the development.
