A man described as a notorious bandits leader has been killed during a clash among factions over a dispute regarding sharing of belongings of a deceased gang chief.
The bandits leader, Kachalla Haire, popularly known as Mala’ikan Mada, was killed on Saturday evening at the Mada axis of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that trouble began when his group and other groups of bandits disagreed on how they would share the belongings of the top bandits chief who was said to have been killed by security agencies during a gun duel.
However, as the disagreement persisted, one of the members of the rival bandits was said to have got enraged, opened fire on Haire and killing him instantly.
A source in the know of the incident told Impact Nigeria News Online on Sunday morning that Haire had long been one of those orchestrating terror attacks and spreading fear across communities in Mada and other areas in the local government.
The announcement of his death reportedly elicited widespread excitement among members of some communities he had terrorised while members of his gang are said to be currently in disarray.
In another sad development, one of those abducted on Saturday night in Waramu community, Anka Local Government Area of the state has been found dead.
The victim, Alhaji Sani Danbaldo, widely known for his “Bazawara” songs, was reportedly killed by bandits after his abduction. His funeral prayer was held at a few hours after his body was recovered.
