The Speaker Ogun House of Assembly Oludaisi Elemide has commended the Nigeria Immigration Service on the recent reforms introduced in the issuance of Nigerian passport, noting that many improvements had been made to the process and other services provided by the agency.

Elemide stated this when the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Ogun State Command led by the state Comptroller, Grace Adeoye paid a visit to the assembly at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta on Monday.

Adeoye hinted the assembly that it has repatriated 22 illegal Beninoise constituting nuisance in some local government areas of the state.

The Speaker promised that the Assembly would continue to collaborate with the Immigration Service in enhancing its operations in the state.

He acknowledged the Immigration Service’s contributions to promoting peace and security throughout the state, particularly near the borders.

In their remarks, Wahab Haruna, Fola Salami and the Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff, praised the Command’s accomplishments and called for a more proactive intervention in curbing illegal activities of some aliens around border areas in order to strengthen security along border communities.
