Authorities of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, on Friday, September 25, announced the death of one of its drivers attached to the Registrar of the institution through an auto crash.
The driver, Hassan Akeem Babatunde, was said to have lost his life in a fatal auto crash while travelling along the Ijebu Ode-Ibadan road on Friday morning on an official assignment.
Until his death, he served as a driver/mechanic in the Directorate of Works and Service Department and was also the official driver of the institution’s registrar. He joined the services of the university on November 29, 2019.
In a statement by the university after his death, it said it mourns the loss of a staff member “whose life and service have been caught short in such a tragic circumstance.”
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, colleagues and loved ones, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” the university stated.
