The sixth edition of the Lagos Young Entrepreneur Awards (LAYEAWARDS) is scheduled to take place this September, celebrating innovation, resilience, and the growing impact of young business leaders on Lagos State’s economy.
According to the organisers, the 2025 edition will feature a robust lineup of events, including mentorship sessions, lectures, pageantry, parties, award presentations, and the official launch of the Layeawards Magazine. The event aims to inspire younger generations, reward enterprise, and spotlight the critical role entrepreneurs play in shaping Lagos as the fifth-largest economy in Africa.
Speaking on the upcoming program, Oluwanisola Ashifat, CEO and Creative Director of Layeawards, emphasized the growing reputation of the awards platform. “LAYEAWARDS has gained the recognition needed to spotlight both individuals and corporate brands. Our event offers diverse opportunities to reach targeted audiences in a dynamic and far-reaching manner,” Ashifat said.
This year’s edition will focus on raising awareness about the values of entrepreneurship, the selection criteria for honorees, and the credibility of the process. The organisers plan to engage government agencies, NGOs, corporate sponsors, and high-net-worth individuals to support and partner with the initiative.
Awards will be presented in various categories, including honorary awards for philanthropists and socially responsible corporate entities. The celebration will be organized by List Events and Entertainment and will feature performances from top Nigerian musicians and comedians.
Nominations are open for CEOs or Managing Directors under the age of 50 who are driving significant impact in Lagos. The public is encouraged to nominate outstanding candidates via www.layeawards.com. Nominations close on July 15.
“We invite nominations of enterprising young leaders whose work deserves recognition,” Ashifat added, assuring that the survey and selection process will be transparent and merit-based.
