Former African Footballer of the Year and Super Falcon
striker, Asisat Oshoala made an extension on her goal scoring form with FC
Barcelona Ladies after aiding the side to a 2-0 away wins against title rivals
Atletico Madrid Ladies in Madrid yesterday.
The goal served as Oshoala’s fifth after five appearances
for the club in the Liga Iberdrola which she joined few months ago on loan from
Chinese league.
In the 65th minute of the contested match, Oshoala made an
opened scoring for FC Barcelona Ladies after the first half had ended goalless.
This means FC Barcelona Ladies having 63 points from 24
games played so far narrowly bridge the gap at the top to just three points.
However, the former Arsenal Ladies and Liverpool Ladies
player was substituted with Toni Duggan 17 minutes from time.
Her substitute Duggan, made the three points safe for the FC
Barcelona Ladies by netting the second goal 10 minutes from time.
As it is, they are behind table-toppers Atletico Madrid on
66 points in the 16-club Liga Iberdrola Primera Division.
Also, the game which took place at the Wanda Metropolitano
Stadium was watched by 60,739 fans and this serves as a new record for a
women’s club match.
