This life: Right at the nick of time

It’s a beautiful new month; the first month in the last quarter of the year. Perhaps, you’re worried that the year is gradually drawing to a close but a number of your goals and prayers for the year remain unachieved and unanswered. Possibly, getting married this year is part of your goals and it now appears farfetched. My aim today is to remind you to stay optimistic. It is not over until it is over.

Regardless of how hopeless the situation confronting you may seem, I assure you, God’ll make a way for you right at the nick of time. Let me share a very recent personal experience with you.

Few weeks ago, I needed some money to execute an important and time-sensitive project. I didn’t have the money. My husband didn’t have it either. Asides the money for feeding and other basics we needed in the house, we didn’t have any extra kobo.

As the deadline for the project approached with no tangible means of getting the needed sum, I considered borrowing. However, I swiftly cancelled that thought as I had no definite time in mind to pay back and I hate owing.

If this was a personal project, I would have gladly postponed it to when it would be more convenient. However, it was a group project, and timebound. Have I mentioned that the other members of the group have deep respect and high regard for me? So, I couldn’t afford to fall my hands or theirs by not paying when everyone else has paid.

Daily, I tabled the matter before God. There were a number of people who were owing me some substantial sums which would conveniently pay my quota for the project, but none of them was coming forth with the money. Some even stopped picking my calls and responding to my messages.

Two days to the deadline for pay up, my back was literally and figuratively against the wall. It looked as if I would really be put to shame.

A day to the deadline, I got a call from a senior friend whom I often refer clients to his business. He went on and on about how my steady referrals to his business have helped him grow, and how he would like to send me a token.

Did I hear that last part correctly?

Of course, I was reluctant to send him my account details; but he persisted until I sent it.

The next morning – which was the deadline for me to pay for the project – I woke up to a credit alert from my senior friend. That was how I paid for the project without getting into any debt.

God orchestrated things and sent the exact amount I needed right at the nick of time!

I know 2020 is coming to an end and you’re probably downcast because a number of your prayer requests and desires have not manifested yet. Trust me, I have my bucket list for the year, too. However, if there’s anything I have learned in this year in which I have spent more time on the bed than out of it due to ill health, it is that God always shows up at the nick of time.

All you need to do is to trust Him absolutely. Leave no room for worry, and do your part. Yes, things may not happen how and when you want them to happen. Nonetheless, they’ll surely happen in the best way and at the right time.

October is my birthmonth and I strongly believe that this one is our month of countless testimonies. As a matter of fact, the testimonies have started rolling in already. So cheer up and chin up. The year will surely end in praise for you because God always shows up at the nick of time.

Have a splendid October!
