Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday, February 3, took a swipe at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, saying the vagabond that grew up in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been expelled from the party.
Makinde said this while delivering his speech during the opening of the new party Secretariat at Oke Ado, Ibadan, the state capital.
The PDP faction Makinde belongs to expelled some party leaders including Wike, former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, among others, shortly after the national convention of the party held in Ibadan in November last year.
In quick reaction, the faction belonging to Wike also made a countermove, expelling Makinde and others from the party.
However, speaking in regards to the crisis bedevilling the party, Makinde said the vagabond in the party has been expelled and there is now peace in the party.
He said: “In Yorubaland, we always say that if you see a house or a compound that is peaceful, the vagabond in that house has not grown up.
“The vagabond in PDP grew up in 2015, they had their time and for a decade, they practised their acts in the party. But they have now been expelled.
“Finally, someone said he has interest in the PDP in Oyo State, he has interest in the PDP nationally, kindly help me to ask him, what has he done for the PDP in Rivers State that he came from?
“They are wearing rags, dancing around in the midnight, the day will soon break for them to be exposed.”
