Three miscreants who were said to have attacked officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps popularly known as KAI while carrying out an enforcement duties at Ipodo Market in the Ikeja area of the state have been sent to prison.
The miscreants were arrested on Tuesday morning after attacking the officials and were brought before the Magistrates’ Court, Bolade, Oshodi, on Tuesday afternoon charged with assault.
The names of those arrested were given as Farouk Olori, Taoreed Alimi and Tobiloba Ogundare.
When the charge was read to them, they were said to have pleaded guilty, and the magistrate thereafter convicted and sentenced them accordingly.
Olori and Alimi were sentenced to one week improvement while Ogundare, who was discovered by the court to be a serial offender, was sentenced to one year imprisonment.
Many officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps and others carrying out enforcement duties have always come under constant attacks from hoodlums and miscreants in many parts of the state.
