President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, June 23, 2025, commissioned the 15-kilometre A2–Pai Town Road in Kwali Area Council, reaffirming his administration’s focus on rural development and inclusive national growth.
The road links the A2 junction on the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway to Pai Town and is part of the 150km of rural roads completed or ongoing across all six Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) since May 2023.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu highlighted the road’s strategic value to commerce, agriculture, and education, calling it a symbol of his “Renewed Hope” agenda. “Infrastructure means nothing if it is not for the people. This road lifts lives,” he said.
He praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for prioritising rural areas and pledged continued federal support, particularly for the area’s agricultural development. Referencing his earlier commissioning of 2,000 tractors in Sheda, the President promised interventions to improve grazing systems and boost local productivity.
Wike outlined the administration’s recent achievements under the 2023 supplementary budget, including rural road projects in Gwagwalada, Bwari, Kuje, AMAC, and more. He announced new projects like the 18km Karshi–Nyanya Road and 16.4km Ushafa–War College dualisation.
Local traditional ruler, Sarkin Pai, Alhaji Sani Abubakar, hailed Tinubu’s leadership and described Wike as “Mr. Project,” noting the road’s transformative impact on local trade and transportation.
The Pai Town project stands as a milestone in Tinubu’s bid to drive development from the grassroots up, ensuring no community is left behind.
