President Bola Tinubu, during the swearing-in ceremony of seven ministers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, cautioned his cabinet appointees to expect criticism and abuse in the course of their duties. Despite these challenges, the President urged them to maintain focus and avoid distractions, emphasizing the importance of their work in delivering on the administration’s agenda.

The Nigerian President declared that his administration has already succeeded in putting an end to the plundering of Nigeria’s resources by “scavengers” and vowed to crack down on profiteers and smugglers with equal force.

He acknowledged the steep rise in the cost of living and emphasized the need for his administration to demonstrate unwavering dedication to address the issue.

President Tinubu, displaying his resolve to tackle the challenges facing the country, declared that his administration would not shirk its duties but would confront them with unwavering courage and determination.

Tinubu commended the National Assembly for their swift and efficient handling of the ministerial screening process, highlighting their commitment to fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.

The President extended his warm congratulations to the seven new ministers and remarked “The moment is challenging, the present situation calls for a very serious commitment. Yours is a duty to serve and that is what you’ve got to do.

“I really appreciate the fact that you have taken the oath of office and are ready to serve your nation at the time we are facing the challenges of economic growth and other items like security challenges and others.

“It is not easy to find just the unique people that will surrender their life, freedoms and other responsibility to serve their nation anytime in this time of challenges. I am sincerely happy that you have done that and that you are here today to be part of a very committed team of Nigerians who have been working tirelessly since 17 months ago that we assumed the responsibility of governing this country, you are called upon to join the team to rescue this country.

“Service is the hallmark of this human endeavour, you are being called upon to serve. Economic recovery is on the horizon. We have a good path to realize our dreams and it is not just only for us, it is for our children and grandchildren.”

The Ministers sworn-in are Dr Nentawe Yilwatda – Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi – Minister of Labour & Employment; Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu – Minister of State Foreign Affairs,” he said.
