Donald Trump, expressing regret over his recent scathing posts on X. “They went too far,” Musk admitted on Thursday morning, adding that he “regrets some of [his] posts about President Donald Trump last week.” But despite the apology, Trump seems unwilling – at least for now – to reconcile.

Speaking on the New York Post podcast Pod Force One, Trump said he harbors no resentment but admitted to feeling disappointed. “I have no hard feelings,” the 78-year-old President said. “I was really surprised that that happened… I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.” Trump acknowledged podcast host Miranda Devine’s suggestion that Musk may view him as a father figure, responding, “I was disappointed in him, but it is what it is. I don’t blame him.”

While the tone marked a shift from Trump’s earlier comments – where he said Musk had “lost his mind” and “gone crazy” – a reconciliation doesn’t appear imminent. Devine later said Trump is open to patching things up but is “too busy at the moment trying to end two world wars, dealing with riots in L.A., and bringing the economy back.”

Trump also reportedly questioned aides about Musk’s alleged drug use and whether it could explain his erratic behavior, hinting at lingering skepticism. Though less combative than before, Trump made it clear he’s not planning to reconnect with Musk anytime soon. “I’m not even thinking about Elon,” he said.
