Nigeria’s Under-20 team, the Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group D of the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup alongside five-time champions Brazil, Italy, and Dominican Republic.

Nigeria finished third at the last Under-20 AFCON that held earlier this year, and that sealed their spot at the World Cup.

The draws for the tournament were made on Friday in Zurich, and Nigeria now know their opponents for the group stage.

The Flying Eagles have been drawn against powerhouse Brazil, who are the second most successful team in the tournament. They have won it five times, just one behind Argentina.

Also, they will play Italy and Dominican Republic. Nigeria’s first game will he against Dominican Republic on the 21st of May, then they play Italy three days later, before concluding their group stage matches against Brazil on the 27th of May.

The top two teams from each group qualify, then the best four third-placed teams will join then in the round of 16.
