The Miss Africa 2018 with the theme ‘Africanism’ has produced another Beauty Queen from the African continent.
The crown for this year contest went to Miss Congo, Dorcas Kasinde who defeated Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnaemeka and Zambia’s Gladys Kayumba to second and third place respectively.
Alongside the crown she won $35,000 and a sport utility vehicle and it is of great joy to the republic of Congo as one of its own won the crown.
The Miss Africa Beauty Pageant was hosted by Cross River government and had its Excellency and his wife, Governor Prof. and first lady Ben Ayade present at the event.
The Governor who spoke earlier said it was time for Africans to appreciate themselves. He went on to say that Africa does not need the western media to tell its story, which they always centered on poverty and wars.
Kasinde was however crowned by the 2017 winner of the 2017 edition of the pageant, Miss Gaseangwe Balopi of Botswana.
