Ahead of the 2027 general election, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled its governorship and deputy governorship candidates in 28 states.
Among those on the list are former presidential aide, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour; former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; and Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke.
The party also fielded former Delta State governorship candidate, Great Ogboru; former Kaduna State governorship candidate Isa Ashiru; and Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita in Katsina State.
The ADC announced the candidates in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Friday, September 4.
The party said the candidates would carry its banner and commitment to providing Nigerians with credible leadership and a “real alternative” in the 2027 elections.
The 28 states the party fielded candidates in are Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.
ADC unveiled the candidates ahead of the February 6, 2027, governorship elections, with governorship campaigns scheduled to begin on September 9, 2026, according to the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
