The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, Aliyu Musa, for sexually abused a 14-year-old girl in Mubi town.

According to police sources, the incident occurred on September 11, 2025, when the teenager, who works as a salesgirl, sought shelter from the rain inside Musa’s shop. The suspect reportedly lured her into the inner part of the shop, where he allegedly forced himself on her.

Investigators said Musa later attempted to silence the victim by offering her money and promising to buy her a mobile phone in exchange for keeping quiet about the assault.

Police confirmed that the matter was reported to the Mubi South Divisional Headquarters on September 12, leading to Musa’s arrest.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a discreet investigation into the case, assuring that the suspect will be diligently prosecuted to ensure justice for the victim.

“The Command strongly condemns any form of abuse against children. Parents, guardians, and members of the public must remain vigilant, educate their children on personal safety, and encourage them to report suspicious or criminal acts without fear,” the Commissioner stressed.

Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting women and children from sexual violence, noting that the case will be pursued with the seriousness it deserves.
