It was a sad moment for the members of the Nigerians in the United Kingdom Association as they announced the death of a Nigerian citizen, Praise Oluwatomiwa Sanni, who came to the United Kingdom eight months ago to pursue a master’s degree.

Praise, aged 28 years, was said to have died on July 24 during a brief illness while he was getting treatment at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

According to reports, Praise had qualified as a pharmacist in Nigeria and moved to the United Kingdom eight months ago to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Sunderland, while also working towards becoming a UK-certified pharmacist.

Described as a dedicated and highly-driven young man, He left behind his parents, two siblings, extended family, and a community whose lives have been forever touched by his kindness, ambition, and warm spirit.

He is expected to be buried before the end of this week.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together to support his family and give Praise the dignified and honourable farewell he deserves,” the Nigerias in UK Association said in a statement on Saturday evening.
