A couple of people were reportedly shot and several others severely injured, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagged off their official campaign in Lagos state on Tuesday.
It is reported that the fracas began while Governor Akinwunmi Ambode addressed party supporters at the Skypower Ground in Ikeja.
The root of the feud appears to have come from within the ranks of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) as one of their officials Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, was stabbed in the neck amidst the fighting. He was rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
The police have also declared one of the NURTW leaders Mustapha Adekunle wanted in connection with the incident.
Two suspects were also arrested by men of the Lagos State Police in connection with the violence.
