The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the enforcement deadline for the Tinted Glass Permit regulation to August 12, 2025, following public feedback on the reactivated digital application process.
Approved by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, the extension aims to give citizens more time to comply and allow the NPF to improve the system for greater efficiency, security, and accessibility.
The official application portal remains www.possap.gov.ng, and motorists are urged to use only this platform. Reports of extortion, hidden fees, or unauthorized charges can be submitted via the Police hotline: 09169967000.
According to Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the move reflects the NPF’s ongoing reforms focused on transparent, citizen-friendly service delivery. Upgrades include streamlined verification systems and reduced processing delays for both physical and digital permit requests.
The extension is part of broader efforts to modernize policing and strengthen public trust. Motorists with tinted glass vehicles are encouraged to complete their permit applications within the grace period to avoid sanctions once enforcement begins.
