A church in Ibadan, Oyo State, Faith and Miracle International Church (FMIC), has raised an alarm over invasion of its premises and attack on church members by some people it described as followers of Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, self-styled Living Perfect Master.
The church is located at Kilometre 10, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, beside the Guru Maharaj Ji Village and its premises, known as Faith and Miracle City, has been under ownership dispute between it and Guru Maharaj Ji.
According to the senior prophet of the church, G. F. David, during the late hours of the night on Sunday after the conclusion of its programme, armed individuals invaded the premises.
He alleged that they assaulted the workers who were still around, destroyed valuables, set parts of the site on fire and fired shots while also issuing threats against him.
According to him, during the invasion, the attackers declared that the land belongs to Guru Maharaj Ji and forced the workers to flee for their lives.

“For the avoidance of doubt, there is an ongoing legal dispute concerning the land. FMIC has consistently maintained that all disagreements relating to ownership must be determined through the lawful processes of the courts and not through violence, intimidation, fire, weapons or attacks against innocent workers.
“The words reportedly spoken by the attackers concerning Guru Maharaj Ji form part of the eyewitnesses accounts and evidence being submitted to the relevant authorities.
“We call upon the Nigeria Polce Force and all appropriate security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident urgently, identify the attackers and determine who sent or supported them.”
As of the time of this report, Guru Maharaj Ji’s media team has yet to respond to the allegations concerning the attack.
