The General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has enjoined Nigerians to be appreciative of the unparallel goodness and mercy of God notwithstanding the situation in the country at the moment.
The revered cleric spoke at the New Year’s Thanksgiving Service held at the national headquarters, Ebute Metta, Oyingbo, Lagos.
The theme of the service was, “Thanksgiving,” and it drew Christian faithfuls of both members and non-members of the church.
Reeling out the innumerable wonders of God in the life of man, the preacher added that for God to continue to hold Nigeria together as one despite our seeming differences and challenges, there is absolute need to appreciate God.
“We have so many things to celebrate about Nigeria despite the fact that we have not arrived at our collective dream.
“History will tell us that some African countries in Africa did not pass through one tenth of what Nigeria is passing through before they divided.
“God has been preventing the country from another war because there is no country that can accommodate Nigerians with the population of more than 200 million.
“Ghana or any country in West Africa, according to him, cannot absorb two states in Nigeria. That is the reason we should thank God and again, it is the beginning of war one knows, no one knows the end” he said.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Administration, Pastor Dele Balogun, Adeboye said it is time for Nigerians to move closer to God because of His plans for Nigerians in the new year.
“Those who move closer to Him will benefit from the positive things God has for the year while those who do not would reap the negative,” Adeboye posited.
Meanwhile, in his brief prophesies for Year 2023, which were declared on the eve of new year, no single prophesy was declared for Nigeria or its economy. Not a few had wondered and pondered what this could mean to the nation and its leadership. Pastor Adeboye’s prophesy came in two fold; the world and individuals/general.
For the world, the renowned cleric noted that the “world’s whether would be more erratic, but it would be nice wherever God’s children are. Also, he noted that peace would relatively reign in the world.
On the flip side, he said the biggest challenge of 2022 will lead to biggest testimony in 2023 and that God will bring calmness to crisis-ridden homes in year 2023. “For quite a few people, there would be restoration of lost glories. Many troublemakers will lose the ability to make trouble.”
