Less than five hours after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) invited former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has also extended an invitation to the former governor.
El-Rufai announced the invitation on his X handle on Friday night, saying he got the invitation letter on Thursday evening and he plans to honour the invitation on Wednesday, February 18.
El-Rufai had on Thursday said he plans to honour the EFCC ‘s invitation on Monday, February 16 in order to answer various questions from the commission.


Rufai was accosted by security agencies at the Abuja Airport on Thursday afternoon after he arrived from Cairo, Egypt, just as his media aide alleged that his passport was seized by the security agencies during his encounter with them at the airport on Thursday.
Writing on his invitation by the ICPC, El-Rufai said: “Yesterday, after the futile attempt to abduct me, the ICPC delivered a letter to invite me to their office. My lawyer has written to confirm that I will be attending the ICPC office on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.”
