Three police officers attached to the Imo State Command have been booted out of the force after their alleged involvement in armed robbery kidnapping and car snatching in the state
The names of the dismissed police officers were given as Sergeant Gift Ekwueme, Sergeant Ikechukwu Eto and Corporal Divine Ogwuaru.

The CP said the officers were dismissed on February 12 following an orderly room trial which found them guilty of the various offences against them.
According to him, a resident, identified as Elias Chukwu, who allegedly acted as the driver during the robbery operation, was also arrested alongside the dismissed officers.
They were reported to have robbed residents at gunpoint and snatched a vehicle. on February 8 along the Mbaise Road in Owerri, the state capital.

The stolen vehicle was later tracked to the Owerri-Onitsha highway while the policemen and the accomplice were on their way to dispose of it.
Bosso disclosed that the dismissed officers were not officially detailed for patrol on the day of the incident and they falsely presented themselves as members of the Tiger Base Unit of the command while perpetrating the crime.
While reiterating his administration’s zero tolerance for corruption and unprofessional conduct, he directed the command’s Legal Department to ensure the immediate arraignment of the suspects in court.
He therefore stated that the officers were thoroughly investigated and summarily dismissed in line with extant laws guiding the conduct of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
