The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has paid glowing tribute to his daughter, Helen Eno Obareki, describing her as a source of pride and inspiration who has continued to embody the legacy of her late mother.
In a heartfelt message on her birthday, Pastor Eno on his X handle, reflected on the resilience and strength his daughter displayed following the death of her mother, noting that she assumed responsibilities that would ordinarily have overwhelmed many young people. According to him, Helen not only stepped into her late mother’s shoes but has also carved her own path with grace, compassion, and determination.
“After we lost your mother, you stood tall amidst the pain and carried responsibilities that many would have run away from. You didn’t just step into her shoes; you made them your own,” the Governor said.
Helen currently serves in multiple capacities, including as Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA), and in the Office of the First Lady where she plays an active role in advancing social and humanitarian programmes. Pastor Eno lauded her commitment to service and her ability to continue the charitable and community-focused legacy established by her mother.
“You have brought resilience and compassion into every assignment, and you continue to inspire me and many others with your leadership,” he added.
The Governor described the celebrant as a strong, selfless, and visionary young woman whose efforts have touched lives across different communities. He commended her for demonstrating that the true essence of public service lies in kindness, humility, and dedication to uplifting others.
“As parents, we dream of seeing our children achieve greatness, but there is a greater joy when they surpass our expectations. On your birthday, I celebrate the woman you are becoming,” Pastor Eno said in his tribute.
Helen’s contributions to humanitarian causes have earned her recognition as an emerging leader in social development and philanthropy within the state.
The Governor prayed for her continued strength and guidance as she balances leadership with service.
“Keep leading, keep serving, and keep shining. I am truly proud of you,” he said.
