The pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has distanced itself from a report attributed to it which criticizes the administration of President Bola Tinubu. In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Jare Ajayi, the group described the circulating ‘mid-term assessment’ as false, unauthorised, and not representative of its views. It urged the public to disregard the document entirely.
Ajayi emphasized that Afenifere remains committed to constructive dialogue and responsible engagement with the federal government. While acknowledging the ongoing economic and security challenges faced by Nigerians, he noted that the group has regularly identified key areas needing urgent attention and has offered recommendations to improve the situation.
The group commended ongoing government efforts aimed at bringing relief to citizens and laying a foundation for long-term national development. Afenifere expressed optimism that the remaining period of the Tinubu administration would yield tangible benefits, including reduced food and transportation costs and enhanced national security.
Ajayi reaffirmed Afenifere’s belief in the importance of state policing and urged the federal government to accelerate its implementation. The group reiterated its readiness to support policies that promote national stability and development, stressing that its contributions would continue to be made through established and credible channels.
