Activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, on Monday, November 10, said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar must not give the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi, the vice presidential slot when he becomes presidential candidate.

He added that Obi should also contest in 2027 as a presidential candidate in order for him to know his level of popularity.

Adeyanju said this on his verified X handle while mocking Obi who he said lost his polling unit, ward and local government to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) during the just-concluded governorship election in his home state, Anambra.

According to Adeyanju, if Atiku, who is being touted to be the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), gives Obi the vice president slot, it would make him to have an easy way out, adding that he should be a presidential candidate so that he will know the level of his electoral value.

He wrote: “Atiku must not give Obi his VP slot under any circumstance. Peter must contest in 2027 so we can all see the end of his folly and that of his mob.

“Obi must be on the ballot in 2027; I want to check something. It’s Obi or nothing in 2027. He must not get the easy way out by becoming Atiku’s deputy. He can do it all by himself with his Obidient mob.

“The candidate Obi supported in Anambra lost his polling unit. How can you lose your polling unit as a politician/guber candidate? Obi himself lost his polling unit, ward, LG.”

As expected, his posts elicited reactions from followers of Obi who lambasted him and called him unprintable names.
