The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr Peter Obi, has berated the Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, for the alleged insults heaped on him before the governorship election in the state, saying they are not operating at the same level.
Peter Obi said this in a video that went viral on Monday, as he added that he left where Soludo is operating currently 13 years ago, alluding to when he did his eighth-year term as the governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014.
Obi likened where he is currently and where Soludo is to the popular English Premiership and European Champions League, saying the two of them cannot be compared.
He added that while Soludo is still playing at Division 1, a division he said he left 13 years ago, he has upgraded himself and he is currently playing at the Champions League, comparing his 2023 presidential bid to the elite European league.
However, while saying he left as governor 13 years ago, available facts indicated that he left as the governor in 2014, 11 years ago.
Obi said in Igbo language: “Soludo should concentrate on governance, we are not in the same league. He operates at Division 1 Level which I left 13 years ago (11 years ago). I am now in the Champions League.”
It will be recalled that during the governorship election, Obi and his candidate lost their polling units, wards as well as local governments to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and its candidate, Soludo.
