Gunmen believed to be bandits on Friday morning shot the driver of a vehicle dead after he refused to stop at a road in Kaduna State for fear of being abducted.
The marauders, who mounted a roadblock, killed the driver, Ibrahim Abubakar, along the Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the bandits attempted to stop him and kidnap him, but he refused to apply the brakes when he got to the roadblock and unfortunately, he was shot and he died instantly.
The bandits thereafter left the roadblock and returned to the forest while some other motorists and travellers later arrived the scene, called security agencies who took the body to a mortuary.
In another sad development, bandits on Friday afternoon attacked Gabtu village in Gummi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, shot four persons, looted shops across the community and went awy with motorcycles and other valuables.
The attackers also went to nearby Taka Tsaba village where they also rustled cattle and abducted a number of residents.
The Northern part of the country, especially the North-West, has been under the grips of bandits and terrorists who unleash terror on residents of various communities, killing some and abducting others.
