FC Barcelona have reached a full agreement with manager Hansi Flick on a new contract extension that will keep the German tactician at the club until 2028 following the club’s dramatic La Liga triumph.
The deal was finalised less than 24 hours after Barcelona secured their 29th Spanish league title with a commanding 2-0 victory over rivals Real Madrid at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres sealed the crucial El Clasico win, giving Barcelona an unassailable 14-point lead at the top of the table with only three matches remaining.
The title victory capped a remarkable debut domestic campaign for Flick, who has revitalised the Catalan giants since taking charge and restored the club’s attacking identity.
The celebrations, however, were marked by emotion after reports emerged that Flick’s father passed away just hours before the decisive clash against Real Madrid. Despite the personal loss, the former Germany coach remained on the touchline as the Camp Nou observed a minute’s silence before kick-off.
An emotional Flick was later seen holding back tears after the final whistle as Barcelona players lifted him during the title celebrations.

The new agreement extends Flick’s stay by an additional two years beyond his initial contract and reportedly includes an option for a further season.
