Brazil: Lula to face another round of 13 years in prison

A Brazilian court has sentenced ex-President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to nearly 13 years in prison for corruption.

Lula who is 73 years of age was found guilty of taking renovation work from a company which caught up in a massive corruption scheme.

Meanwhile, the ex-president is already serving a 12-year sentence for work done on a beach-front property.

His lawyers have said he would appeal against the new conviction.

However, Lula denies all the charges against him with the claim that they are politically instigated and conceived to prevent him from running for president.
