The political atmosphere has taken a new turn as President Muhammadu Buhari officially handed the daily administration of his campaign to Ex-Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a position previously handled by Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Director General of Buhari Campaign.
As Buhari inaugurated the campaign council in Abuja, he said as quoted in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Garba Shehu: “Though we will all be deeply involved, I would like to assure the nation that I will do my part without making governance or my work suffer.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, my co-chairman, will be fully in charge, and he is going to be on 24-hour vigil.”
Buhari however urged all those in the leadership of the campaign (in the field operations on the campaign trail and in the secretariat) to seek advice from Tinubu whenever guidance was needed.
