Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old butcher, Selim Ayodele, in connection with the stabbing to death of his 26-year-old colleague, Ibrahim Wasiu.
The incident followed a disagreement at their workplace in Alagbole, Ogun State, on October 18 and the attack was later reported at Ajuwon Police Station around 8:00 p.m.
According to the command, preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased and Ayodele had finished their day’s work at a cow meat-selling outlet when a misunderstanding arose over who to sweep the floor.
During the misunderstanding, Ayodele allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed the deceased in the left side of his chest before twisting the weapon.
The victim was rushed to Life Hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival by the doctor on duty and his remains were later deposited at Life Channel Private Mortuary, Lambe, Ajuwon, for autopsy.
The man has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) as more investigations continue regarding the incident.
He is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.
