How a condemned prisoner escaped from a maximum security prison without the notice of prison wardens is what men of the Yobe State Police Command are now trying to unravel.
A maximum security prison is supposed to be provided with heavy security and guarded round the clock by prison officials
A condemned prisoner, whose name was given as Abba Hassan, was said to have escaped from the Maximum Security Prison in Potiskum, Yobe State on Friday, October 32 and has been declared wanted by the state police command.
Hassan, said to be from Maiduguri, Borno State, was sentenced by a court and was serving his jail term in Potiskum when he escaped from the prison without the knowledge of the wardens.
The state police command warned residents of the state not to confront the man or apprehend him wherever he is seen as the command said he is dangerous and may be wielding weapons.
The command urged anyone who sights him to report at the police station, correctional centre or any other security agencies.
