Covid-19: NCDC urges Nigerians to take responsibility

As Nigeria recorded additional 1,430 new cases of covid-19 on Monday 25th, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) through its verified Twitter handle advised that Nigerians should take responsibility in the fight against the spread of the disease.

The agency recorded the 1,430 new cases from 19 states which included Lagos-744,

Plateau-100, Oyo-77, FCT-75, Nasarawa-74, Katsina-48, Edo-42, Kano-41, Enugu-37, Rivers-34, Ogun33, Kwara-32, Niger-28, Ebonyi-27, Kaduna-26, Borno-12, Yobe-10, Ekiti-5, Gombe-1.

With this development covid-19 confirmed cases in the country as at Monday, 25th January, 2020, has increased to 121, 996 with active cases now up to 23,130 as the NCDC hammered on the need for Nigerians to stick to preventive measures aimed at curbing the spread of the disease.

98,539 patients have been discharged while the NCDC has recorded 1,507 deaths.

“Disregard for covid-19 preventive measures puts you and everyone around you at risk of getting infected. The Actions you take to reduce the spread of covid-19 were you are protects the vulnerable. Our fight against covid-19 is a collective effort. Please take responsibility,” the agency twitted.

As at the time of filing the report 1,270,523 samples have been tested.
