Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the deployment of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to distribute Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel across Nigeria, beginning August 15, 2025. The initiative offers free logistics support to petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom companies, aviation operators, and other large fuel users.
In a statement on Sunday, the 650,000 barrels-per-day refinery said the move is aimed at cutting logistics costs, boosting energy access, and supporting Nigeria’s economic development. It also includes the rollout of daughter CNG booster stations and over 100 CNG tankers to enhance distribution efficiency.
“All petrol stations and bulk buyers purchasing from Dangote Refinery will benefit from this logistics support,” the statement read. “This will reduce fuel costs, support SMEs, lower inflation, and improve rural access to energy.”
In addition to free delivery, buyers of at least 500,000 litres will be eligible for an extra 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, subject to a bank guarantee. The company said the measure will help stimulate the economy, create jobs, and revive inactive fuel stations.
“This is a major milestone in our mission to make energy affordable and accessible to all Nigerians, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement added.
Dangote Refinery thanked the federal government for its support, especially under the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which has helped ensure fuel supply stability amid global market volatility.
The company invited marketers, petrol dealers, and industrial buyers to embrace the programme, which it described as a transformative step for the downstream sector and a key pillar of Nigeria’s broader economic reforms.
