In a move to support underprivileged students, the Dare Adeboye Foundation has awarded full WASSCE scholarships to 300 final-year secondary school students across Ogun and Osun States.
The scholarships, announced during a ceremony at the Dare Adeboye Innovation Hub in Redemption City, cover the full cost of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The 2025 edition of the annual scheme drew over 1,800 applications, with finalists selected through a competitive screening process at six centers.
“This scholarship is more than just financial aid. It’s our belief in the power of education to change lives,” said Pastor Leke Adeboye, chairman of the foundation’s board.
Established in memory of the late Oluwadamilare “Dare” Adeboye, the foundation targets students from low-income families, aiming to remove financial barriers to education. Parents and educators hailed the intervention, describing it as a life-changing opportunity for many.
The event brought together community leaders and stakeholders who lauded the foundation’s commitment to youth development. As economic pressures persist, the initiative stands out as a vital private-sector effort complementing public education support.
