Nigerian music star Davido was involved in a troubling encounter during a recent outing at a Lagos shopping mall when an overzealous fan grabbed him by the leg in front of his daughter, Imade.
The incident, captured on video and widely circulated online, shows the visibly shocked singer quickly checking on his daughter’s safety before his security team intervened and restrained the individual.
Eyewitnesses say the fan was swiftly pulled away, with some alleging he was manhandled in the process. The entire episode, lasting only seconds, sparked a heated debate on social media about celebrity safety, fan conduct, and public security lapses.
Online reactions have been divided. While many applauded Davido for his composure and fatherly instinct, others questioned how such close contact was allowed to happen, especially with a child present. Some speculated the fan acted out of frustration, citing unmet expectations of a cash handout – a common occurrence at celebrity appearances in Nigeria.
