26 year old popular Nigerian musician, Mr. David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is progressively moving into politics as he names Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike as his Godfather.

He said “I am also here to see my godfather, Governor Wike and to support his second term bid.

“I am planning a talent hunt show in Port Harcourt; one of the lucky artistes will perform at my show in Lagos on December 27”.

Davido from the wealthy Adeleke’s family in Osun state in his statement on Sunday at Port Harcourt promised to work for the re-election of Wike who is the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Also, the musician will be staging a talent hunt show for Rivers-based artistes. According to him, the programme would be in line with his discussions with the State Government to support new generation artistes in the state.

He added that he was also in Port Harcourt to wish Wike a happy birthday, stating that in the forthcoming year, there were a lot of things planned for the good of the music industry.

On the other hand, Governor Wike promised to support the entertainment industry; to create jobs for the youth.

It will be deduced that Davido’s involvement in politics began in September when he was all out campaigning for his uncle Senator Ademola Adeleke who failed to secure the governorship seat of Osun state.
